How does Onsior® (robenacoxib) work?
Onsior is a coxib class NSAID that stays at the source of the inflammation after quickly exiting the bloodstream.*1,2
*Clinical relevance unknown.
Onsior is effective with once daily dosing, for up to a maximum of 3 days.
- Onsior is quickly absorbed.
Dogs: Mean whole peak blood concentrations are attained rapidly with Tmax values generally occurring within 0.5 to 1 hr following oral administration.* Following an injected dose, Tmax values are generally achieved within 1 to 2 hrs.**
Cats: Peak blood concentrations are attained rapidly with median Tmax values generally occurring within 0.5 hr.*
- Onsior, a highly protein-bound NSAID, persists longer at the site of inflammation than in the blood because inflammatory exudate is rich in plasma proteins, thereby providing sustained drug levels at the site of action.1,2***
- Onsior is rapidly eliminated from the blood.
Dogs: The mean blood T1/2 is approximately 1 hr for Onsior Tablets for Dogs.* The terminal T1/2 is within 1 to 4 hours for Onsior injection for Dogs.**
Cats: The mean blood T1/2 is approximately 1.7 hrs for Onsior Tablets for Cats.* The terminal T1/2 is approximately 1.1 hrs. for Onsior injection for Cats.**
